What will I be doing this Fall?

I now know what I will be doing this Fall out at YWAM.

But before I say, I'd like to share what I thought I would be doing.  God has been speaking to me so much about learning to be a leader like Jesus.  How did Jesus lead?  By serving.  Jesus came to serve and not be served.  I feel like I have so much growing to do before I get there.  Now usually when it is your first quarter joining YWAM, they give you simple jobs so you can get used to how things work.  This allows people who have been waiting to get a chance to actually work with the DTS and help lead out reaches.  After your first quarter, then they sit down with you and ask you what you are good at and what you enjoy doing.  Then they start to find a place where you fit.

Because I knew I had so much growing to do, I thought for sure I'd be working porta-potty cleaning or lawn care every day.  And that would be my job.  What else is a better way to learn to serve and do it with joy?  Yet still, when I sent in my application I told them what I loved and how I would want to serve.  What I put is that I'd love to work with the schools and specifically help out with the photography school (The schools are DTS or Discipleship Training School).  I also wanted to be able to have other girls I could disciple and maybe even help out with worship.  The though of helping to lead an out reach sounded exciting to me also.  So I put that down.  I wrote all of this with no expectation of getting to do any of this.   Well, when I heard back from YWAM, they told me that I got to do all of this!

So I will be working with the DTS this Fall at YWAM for 3 months.  After the 3 months I will be helping to lead an out reach to the Dominican Republic.  I will be working a lot with the photography school and I even am going to get to help lead worship when I first get there next week.

I cannot wait to keep everyone posted on what God teaches me during this time.  Be praying that I still learn to serve well and get just as excited about unenjoyable things as all these wonderful things I get to do.

Love you all!
